How do parents and students like the program?
Our parents and students have been very happy with the program. Children learn a lot and have fun too!
See what parents are saying.
How much does the program cost?
F4Ed strives to keep program fees low so that many
children can benefit from its courses. Our year-long afterschool program of live instruction in classes
normally having just 3-6 students, is only $980-990.
Materials and books are already included in the fees above.
How many students are there per class?
Most of our groups have between 3 and 6 students per instructor.
We will generally not have more than 8 students per group. In the rare cases that we have a group that large, we assign one of our best instructors to teach that group.
What are the typical student ages or grades for each course?
Our curriculum maps to a variety of ages and grades, depending on individual
students' previous experience. For many students, approximate age ranges are:
Course Age
Math 1A,B 5-7
Math 2A,B 6-8
Math 3A,B 7-11
Math 4A,B 8-12
Math 5A,B 9-13
Math 6A,B 10-14
Whenever possible, we try to place students in classes with other children of the same age.
Should gifted children take F4Ed
courses?
Yes!
How is F4Ed different from other gifted
& talented programs?
We search the globe to find the most
advanced math curriculum and the most effective teaching methods. Our
program is significantly more advanced than other gifted programs, and we
group gifted children together to allow them to progress at their natural
pace. Most of our instructors were gifted & talented youth themselves
and are uniquely qualified to teach your child.
How do I get F4Ed programs offered at my
school?
Please have your school’s principal, PTA, or
superintendent email us to request
that the program be offered at your school.
Why use international curricula?
Students in other
countries are taught mathematical concepts at a much younger age than
their U.S. counterparts. This gap builds with each additional year of
school, so that by college our children are years behind their
international peers in math and science. This gap can lead to a
significant disadvantage in math and science, higher learning programs, and
in the global job market.
F4Ed programs use international math curricula to fill this gap.
What is your affiliation with Stanford Univeristy?
We are independent from Stanford University. Our program was developed at
Stanford and is largely managed by Stanford graduate students. However, we are not affiliated with,
sponsored, or managed by Stanford University.
How much further ahead are students in other
countries?
On average, students in most other countries are years
ahead of our children in math. This is true even with regards
to our gifted and talented youth. In fact, many countries teach their
average students material that is more advanced than what we teach our
gifted and talented students. To enable its students to excel, F4Ed
uses top international curriculum from Singapore and other countries
that lead the world in math.
Why should my child take a F4Ed
course?
Your child will one day compete with millions of other
children from around the world for admission to prestigious U.S.
universities. F4Ed leverages advanced international
curricula and talented instructors to give your child a lasting academic
advantage. Our goal is to build your child’s long-term development.
Do you provide transportation?
We do not offer transportation.
Are your course fees tax-deductible?
Many parents have flexible
spending accounts through their employers which allow them to pay for our program
using pre-tax dollars. We recommend that you consult a tax professional to determine
whether our courses may be tax-deductible for you.
Is financial aid available?
F4Ed is
pleased to offer need-based financial aid to families that are not able to
afford the full tuition for the program. Our financial aid funds are limited
and are intended for families in hardship. You may apply for financial aid
in our online registration procedure.
Are refunds available?
Cancellations are not refundable. However, substitutions are
allowed up to one week before the published course start date.
